 At Global PAN IIT 2013 Conference in Houston, Ms Purnima Gupta (B.Arch. '68) was recognized by the PanIIT USA Executive Committee for her contributions as a PanIIT USA Past Board Member and Advisor at the IIT 2013 Global Conference in Houston. A prominent Roorkee alumni, she has led the IIT Roorkee Alumni Association of North America (IIT RAANA, earlier University of Roorkee Alumni Association of North America) as President during multiple periods, most recently till 2011.In this recognition, PAN IIT USA President Siddhartha Chowdhary noted, "The Houston Conference celebrates the completion of the first decade of PanIIT. And as we embark on the next decade, the goal is to make PanIIT an inclusive organization that is focused on alumni services and outreach. And we recognize that Pan IIT USA has a prominent status today due to the dedication and efforts of alumni like yourself". Her efforts were recognized with the “PanIIT Distinguished Service Award”, which was first presented at the 2011 NYC Conference. This award was presented at the Conference's Chairman’s Reception Thursday, December 5, 2013. Congratulating her on this recognition, IIT RAANA President Mr. Anoop Verma (BE '87 EE) commended her for her commitment and contributions to the alumni community. Ms. Purnima Gupta is a B.Arch.1968, M.Arch. University of Illinois 1970. She also organized and moderated the "IIT Authors" session. She represented 7 authors at a very successful session. She initiated IIT Authors Forum in 2005 and every year this forum had some activity or other at PANIIT globals.
