Ajit's first successful venture was a company he founded in 1999 - Speedera Networks. Speedera became one of the fastest growing private companies in Silicon Valley and in the North American technology industry in five years, as ranked by both Deloitte & Touche and PricewaterhouseCoopers. In 2004, he successfully launched Speedera India in Bangalore to drive the company’s accelerated global expansion. Speedera was acquired in 2005 by Akamai Technologies (NASDAQ: AKAM) for a stock transaction worth more than $500 million one year later. After Speedera, he founded AAyuja (www.aayuja.com), a technology sales acceleration company, serving as its CEO. He is currently Chairman of the company. He is also the Chairman and Founder at JantaKhoj, an India-based, comprehensive people search engine and background verification service.
Ajit was recognized by the Golden Bridge Awards for leadership and innovation in October 2012 for launching Aryaka's WAN Optimization as-a-Service offering. Ajit has spoken at conferences around the world, including GigaOM Structure 2011, Cloud Connect, Red Herring, Kagan Digital Media Summits, Datacenter Ventures events, and Streaming Media.
In 2003, Ajit established a philanthropy program for Speedera called "Giving Back", which provided free Internet infrastructure services to non-profit organizations including Unicef.org, Goodwill Industries International, Autism.org, and the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Under his leadership, Speedera assisted UNICEF during the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami by providing pro-bono services to enable UNICEF websites to accept contributions and to help victims and families communicate with each other.
Ajit holds a BE in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology-Roorkee, a MS in Electrical Engineering from University of Alabama, is a notable alumni of the Boys' High School & College (Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh), (BHS), an independent school in Allahabad, India and is a founding board member of the IIT-Roorkee Heritage Fund.

He received a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the University of Roorkee (now IIT Roorkee) in 1963.
He has worked in the research and development of Wireline telephone Communications, Satellite Communications, and Defense Communications Systems. He began his career in consumer electronics in the field of color television in Chicago. He changed his field to telephone systems. In 1978 he moved to Washington DC and moved his field to designing Satellite Communications Systems where he worked on the initial development of the Global Positioning Systems (GPS). He gradually moved into the area of integration of multiple communication systems for Defense Communications and network security. He is presently working on Network and Cyber Security systems. He has been awarded 12 patents during his career in Communications and Consumer Electronics.
Presently he is working at the Federal Communications Commission in Washington, DC as Telecommunications Systems Specialist.
He lives in Potomac, MD, a suburb of Washington DC with his wife Manju Gupta and family. He has three daughters.
Now in his ninth year as president of Nebraska Air Quality Specialties, Srivastav is a winner of the Entrepreneurial Spirit Award from the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce and an air quality expert. Through his company NAQS, he is actively engaged in numerous industry organizations, including the Nebraska Industrial Council on the Environment (NICE) – of which he is also the Chairperson, Association of Nebraska Ethanol Producers (ANNEP), American Coalition for Ethanol (ACE), Air and Waste Management, Lincoln Chamber of Commerce and provides significant input to some of these organizations on air quality regulations and potential areas of engagement for industry. He was interviewed for the June 2010 issue of ACE’s Ethanol Today for the article on Ethanol's Commitment to Clean Air. Piyush is on the cover page of the April 2011 Issue of the Ethanol Producer Magazine and was interviewed for leading an article on air quality permitting and compliance issues and continues to be featured in national magazines. Ram is a founding Director and Member of the Executive Committee of the IIT Bombay Heritage Fund , the Alumni Fund of IIT Bombay. He was also one of the original founding members of the PanIIT movement which began in Stamford, Connecticut in 2002.
