Piyush Srivastav is the founder and President of the Nebraska Air Quality Specialties and the sister company National Air Quality Specialties, which provide consulting services on Clean Air Act permitting and compliance. Both companies go by the name NAQS, and specialize in air issues related to all industry sectors. His background with Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality (NDEQ) and a major electric utility give Srivastav critical insight into how to manage environmental compliance and the industrial perspective. As a former regulator at the NDEQ, Srivastav developed expertise in Federal, State, and local regulations and the rule making processes. Subsequent to the NDEQ, he worked for Nebraska’s largest utility company, The Nebraska Public Power District, where he was responsible for air quality permitting and compliance at all of NPPD power plants and advised the management on strategic, regulatory, and technical aspects related to air quality regulations and was actively engaged in the state and federal air quality rulemaking process.

Now in his ninth year as president of Nebraska Air Quality Specialties, Srivastav is a winner of the Entrepreneurial Spirit Award from the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce and an air quality expert. Through his company NAQS, he is actively engaged in numerous industry organizations, including the Nebraska Industrial Council on the Environment (NICE) – of which he is also the Chairperson, Association of Nebraska Ethanol Producers (ANNEP), American Coalition for Ethanol (ACE), Air and Waste Management, Lincoln Chamber of Commerce and provides significant input to some of these organizations on air quality regulations and potential areas of engagement for industry. He was interviewed for the June 2010 issue of ACE’s Ethanol Today for the article on Ethanol's Commitment to Clean Air. Piyush is on the cover page of the April 2011 Issue of the Ethanol Producer Magazine and was interviewed for leading an article on air quality permitting and compliance issues and continues to be featured in national magazines. NAQS clients include several fortune 500 companies, large private companies, small corporations, local and federal government agencies.

Piyush holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology, Physics, and Mathematics from the University of Lucknow, India; Master of Technology in Applied Geology from the University of Roorkee (Now IIT-Roorkee), India; Master of Science in Hydrogeology from The George Washington University in Washington, DC; and worked towards a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Hydrogeology from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln.

Piyush lives with his wife who is also a former regulator and an environmental expert, and two daughters on a wonderful acreage in the rolling hills of Garland, Nebraska, and is a die-hard Husker fan!
