Shantanu is a venture capitalist focused on innovative technologies for the energy, oil & gas sector. He has previously also founded a startup in the gas compression domain. He has deep expertise in Oilfield Services with experience in fieldwork, managing operations and business development/sales for Schlumberger. Prior to his MBA from Harvard University, Shantanu was Business Development Manager with Schlumberger in North-West Europe. Here he managed customer relationships with senior managers in over 20 oil companies, spread across North Sea countries leading marketing and sales efforts of oilfield services business unit with $120MM in annual revenues. He has worked with McKinsey Climate Change Special Initiative, consulting to various US utilities and energy firms in the past. He has also worked with California Clean-energy venture capital firm evaluating the solar and battery spaces in the past. Shantanu has an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee where he was the class Valedictorian and was awarded President of India Gold Medal (2002) for outstanding academic and extra-curricular achievements. |
